Why StepClad stands out

A better surface, right over the old one.

Engineered for durability, water resistance, and style, StepClad restores your steps for decades, not just seasons. Nimble Design Studio makes it in Ductal UHPC, and our masons fit it right over the steps you already have.

Integrated tread and riser

One piece covers the top and the riser of each step for a seamless look. It goes right over your existing concrete, and we cut the pieces on site to fit.

Anti-slip tactile strips

A dark, contrasting tactile strip is built into every tread at the nosing, on a slip-resistant surface, for added safety on every step.

Overhangs with drip edges

Each tread overhangs with a drip edge to direct water away, finished with a clean 2-inch profile.

Built with UHPC

10x stronger than regular concrete. Ductal UHPC is waterproof and non-corrosive, made for steps that live outdoors.

Colour all the way through

StepClad’s colour is integral: it runs right through the material. It isn’t paint or a coating sitting on top.

Residential & Commercial

Front entries, back stairs and landings at home, and steps at commercial buildings too.
Not a coating

StepClad replaces the surface. It doesn’t just cover it.

Painted brick steps with faded, peeling paint

Forget paint. Choose performance.

  • Painting hides cracks, but does nothing to strengthen your steps.
  • Paint peels, fades, and demands constant touch-ups.
  • With StepClad, your steps stay beautiful and protected, no maintenance required.
Concrete steps with a thin painted coating cracking and flaking

Say goodbye to temporary fixes.

  • Thin coatings crack and flake over time.
  • Debris becomes a tripping hazard and gets tracked indoors.
  • StepClad replaces the surface. It doesn’t just cover it.

How it fits together

A few smart pieces, cut to fit.

Treads cover the top and riser of each step. Tiles cover landings. Tap a piece to see what it is.
Illustrative layout. Every stair is different, so we measure yours and cut pieces on site to fit over your existing concrete.

Standard Tread

Sizes are length × depth (× riser height for treads). Pieces are cut on site to fit, so finished sizes vary.

Joints per step
Landings always have joints, with the field tiles starting behind a top tread. Treads can sometimes be one piece, but the size of your steps decides that, so we can't promise joint-free steps.
