Block work is construction with concrete or cement blocks that are larger than a standard brick.  These typically have a hollow core, which make them both lighter to work with and provides a higher level of insulation.

Decorative blocks, also known as split face blocks, are frequently used in garden landscaping retaining walls and are a more cost-effective option than the standard concrete wall.  Many options for design exist, with different finishes and colours available; ease of installation is the most significant advantage of using block construction.  Other advantages include:
